The Black Father’s film festival will showcase two documentaries and offer the opportunity for Q&A after viewing each one.

The first relatively short documentary will focus on the childhood experiences of the CEO of Father2Father Courtney Brown. This thought-provoking piece will offer insight, and force reflection as well as have the viewer consider how childhood trauma (ACEs) can have an impact on the adult you become.

The second documentary, 5Black Fathers was filmed, directed, and produced by the CEO of Father Figure, David Mullings. David takes the viewer on a trip around the UK to take a deeper look at some of the experiences of black fathers. In the absence of positive media coverage of black men and their families, this documentary seeks to humanise black men by allowing them to tell their stories, guaranteeing emotion and self-reflection.
